How to Pack Your Carry On

If there's one thing I've learned about a carry on, it's that it doubles as an emergency pack of sorts. It holds everything to keep you entertained and comfortable on the plane as well as items to help you freshen up once you set foot in the terminal bathroom before tromping off to baggage claim.

I used to pack way too many things in my bag and then have the shoulder ache later to prove it.

So, I've narrowed down my carry on must haves to the items above. I always make sure to pack a scarf, a notepad, lip balm and hand lotion.

Then, of course there's my Kindle Fire, which is stocked with books, magazines and games.

If you're wondering about the mini candle and matches, let's just say, sometimes you walk into a stinky, smelly hotel room and unpacking to find something good smelling to douse the place with would take too much time. Instead, I pack a small candle and matches in my carry on, so it's easy access.
