September came and went so fast I completely forgot I needed to put together my favorites of the month. I tried a ton of new things this month and these are the ones that made the cut. I don't know what it is that makes September feel like the absolute shortest month in the entire year. I mean, February, which is cut wayyy short, feels so much longer than September ever feels. Maybe it's because I always, every year without fail, pack September completely full with events. I'm always off doing something for at least two weekends for my birthday, then there's usually a weekend getaway toward the end of the month and a lot of little things in between.
I'll stop babbling now and get to the stuff that led you to want to read this blog post. It's now official. I'm obsessed with Josie Maran products. I don't know what it is about her stuff; well, I take that back: it's animal cruelty free, no parabens, sulfates, GMOs and all those other nasty things and everything has argan oil worked into it. I have been using this eyeshadow palette every single day for the entire month. All 30 days of September, I have had these shadows on my lid. I never have an attention span that long. I also can't get enough of the new light Argan oil formula. It feels like you're rubbing butter all over you face, if I could guess what that felt like and yet the argan oil is probably much better to rub all over your face than butter. Bad analogy I suppose, but now that I've typed it, I feel the need to leave it. Another new favorite, her lip gloss. This one is, yes you guessed it, fantastic.
To shake things up for the fall season, I've been loving the new Benefit blush Rockateur, MAC's eyeshadow Palace Pedigreed, which I've been pairing with my Josie Maran palette from above and MAC's lipglass in Fashion Punch.
I'm now on my second bottle of MUFE Mat Velvet +. I had to go down a shade to match my less tan skin tone as we move into fall and I'm still just as obsessed with it as I was on the first bottle. Another staple I keep going back to? The treat and conceal corrector by Miracle Skin Transformer. Hands down, the best concealer I have ever used in my entire life. I hate paying the thirty something dollars for it, which is why I try desperately to find other products that are better than it, but alas I never do.
I've noticed a slight shift in the dryness of the air the last few weeks. Florida is known for its humidity, but toward the middle to end of September it starts to dry out just the teensiest bit and my skin notices. My legs get a bit drier and so do my lips. So, I've been exfoliating my legs with this coconut sugar scrub I got in a travel size from the spa close to where I live and not only does it smell amazing, but I love how it makes my skin feel. I also finally jumped on the EOS bandwagon. The round shape of the container and the lip balm still kinda creep me out (yes, this is the reason I never bought them), but I'll admit it is convenient and the pink one I have does smell good. I think it's passion fruit or I could be lying; the package doesn't say what scent...flavor... I'm not sure what to call it. As you can see, I'm still confused by this product.
