Favorites time! I don't know why I enjoy these monthly posts so much, but it's always fun to look back and see what products I couldn't live without for a 30-31 day duration. Aside from the hair mask, I used every one of these products at least once a day for the entire month of October. You'll find each item listed below with a semi lengthy explanation as to why it's my favorite.
TIGI Rockaholic Dirty Secret: This dry shampoo is my holy grail product, but with a $20 price tag I usually settle for a drugstore version. That is, until Ulta made put the pink, Breast Cancer version on sale for $7.99. I've been trying to use it sparingly, but I love it for added volume at the crown and besides, good products were meant to be used. After I empty this can, I guess I'll go back to my lackluster drugstore options.
Sara McNamara Miracle Skin Transformer: I don't know how this primer does what it does, but it makes my skin feel so soft and almost blurs imperfections so they are no longer visible to the eye. My foundation applies so smoothly over it and everything just stays put during the day. Even on days when I don't put on foundation, I'll still apply this product just to even out my skin tone and smooth everything out.
Boyfriend Perfume: I'm not a huge fan of celebrity made perfumes, but this Kate Walsh perfume is amazing for fall. It has a spicy, warm scent that makes me want to throw on a boyfriend's oversized flannel shirt and sit by a fire with a book all day. I've been reaching for it every day and I'm absolutely going to need the full size bottle.
Smashbox Limitless Liquid Liner Pen: There is no other eyeliner in my life. I am in a full on committed relationship with this liner. It can do no wrong; it doesn't smudge or move around during the day, it looks the exact same at 7pm as it does at 7am and it's a deep, dark black that allows a buildable line.
Lollia Calm Handcreme: While on vacation a few weeks ago, the cold air and washing of my hands was really drying out my hands and I needed something extra moisturizing. I found this hand lotion in a shop one day and have been using it ever since. The scent isn't too overpowering and it moisturizes without feeling greasy.
Smashbox Photo Finish Lid Primer: During the week I tend to skip extraneous steps that can delay my arrival to work, but I noticed such a huge difference in the appearance of my eyeshadow at the end of the day after using this primer that I started using it daily.
Josie Maran GoGo Instant Natural Mascara: Oh Josie. She's so fantastic. The more products I try from her line, the more I want to try others. This mascara is fantastic. It highlights the length of my lashes and makes them look fuller as well. It doesn't flake or leave specks on my cheekbone like some mascaras do throughout the day. I seriously love everything about this mascara.
OPI Lost on Lombard: Part berry colored, part red. It's almost the color of a red leaf in the fall.
Pacifica Lotion Wipes: I first saw these lotion wipes right before vacation and I thought they would be convenient to pack since we were flying. Well, they were, but they are pretty fantastic too. I love the ruby grapefruit scent and the no mess, no fuss application. It's like a makeup removing wipe only it applies lotion instead.
Element Tree Essentials Lotion Candle: I discovered this candle line while on vacation last month. The company is out of Asheville, NC and I'm not going to lie. I saw them three times before I finally became curious and had to check them out. From there on I was sold. The candles are a soy base, so they burn clean and each candle is made of essential oils. My favorite scent so far is the Oak Moss and Amber.
MAC Mineralize Skinfinish: This is another product that seems to have a blurring effect. I love the way it finishes off my foundation and keeps me from getting overly oily.
L'Oreal Eversleek Smoothing Deep Conditioner: During the fall and winter months, my hair needs a bit more TLC, especially the ends. They get a bit drier looking and feeling. I've been using this deep conditioner once or twice a week for the past month and it makes a noticeable difference.
Origins A Perfect World Eye Cream: While I don't necessarily need to reverse or fix wrinkles, everyone has fine lines and I truly feel like this eye cream firms up the skin around my eyes. Do I think some eye creams are glorified moisturizers, yeah. I notice a difference when I don't apply this eye cream though. It somehow makes the skin around my eyes look more firm and bright and awake looking. I can't imagine not using this product.
Origins Ginzing Eye Cream: Another eye cream must have. This has a pinkish pearlescent tint to it that wakes up the eye area and uses caffeine to diminish dark circles and that sallow kind of look. I love using this in the morning over my Perfect World eye cream. Separate and together they do wonders.
Smashbox Fade to Black Palette: I tend to branch out and use more color on my eyes during the fall and winter months and while I love my other neutral palettes, this one allows me to create more looks with less. I can create a neutral, everyday look with this palette or I can switch in the more purple hued colors for something different. Also, I love creating a purple smokey eye with this palette.
