Biltmore Village Wandering

Phew! Time seriously got away from me these past few weeks, and I neglected blogging. After an amazing vacation in North Carolina at the end of May, I came back and buckled down at my day job, and I found myself coming home mentally exhausted from the office and wanting to do nothing more than sip some vino and scroll through everyone else's Instagram and blog feeds.

Just as I was getting back into the swing of things, Mike came in last weekend for a long weekend. Thursday night I took him to my favorite local Mexican restaurant, Fiesta Grande, and as if the 2-for-1 margaritas weren't enough, we then strolled down to Pisces Rising for a cocktail at their deck bar. Friday morning, we woke up early and headed out to Disney World. We spent the entire day drinking our way through Epcot (no easy feat) and chowing down on lots of yummy food in all the countries. Saturday morning we woke up early for breakfast and a swim in the hotel pool before coming home. Then, we spent the entire rest of the weekend floating around in the pool before I had to take him back to the airport on Sunday evening (insert sad face here).

Alas, I am finally back on my normal schedule and don't foresee any hiccups in scheduling in the near future. Now, onto the post...

The weather was so gorgeous in North Carolina that I knew I wanted to take full advantage of the cooler days and work some outfit shoots in. Let's face it, Florida is HOT SWELTERING SIZZLING during the summer months and if I were to get up early enough to beat the heat it would still be dark. So, to avoid crack of dawn outfit shoots, I planned ahead. This will also explain why my hair is longer in these photos than it is in real life (if you follow me on Instagram, you've seen my major chop).

The Biltmore Village area of Asheville is one of my favorites. The sidewalks are brick and the streets are lined with the most gorgeous trees. I especially love the view above during the fall. Those trees on the right are a bright, fiery orange, and just so gorgeous. Asheville days are all about comfort: comfortable outfit, comfortable shoes, crossbody bag. It all has to be easy and no fuss because we do a lot of walking. I tend to rely on a pair of my Tom's for comfort. They are comfortable and easy to walk in, don't cause blisters, and provide support for my feet.

I so wish that Coach still made this mini tanner tote. It is seriously my absolute favorite for traveling because not only is it a crossbody, but it's a structured, rectangular shape with more room than I've seen in any other small crossbody bag. I actually purchased two colors at the same time when they came out back in 2012 or 2013 (I can't remember); this chalk color and a bright coral color.
Outfit Details:
Shirt | Gap (similar)
Shorts | Loft (similar)
Crossbody | Coach
Shoes | Tom's (similar)
