Travelogue | WNC | Part One

The amazing thing about North Carolina is that it's the perfect mix of exploring and relaxing. Strangely enough, you sometimes feel like you're relaxing while you're exploring. It's the darnedest thing! We rented the cutest little cabin, high in the mountains of Waynesville, NC. It was so cozy and perfect that I almost didn't want to head into town because there was so much to see around the house.

We knew the wrap-around deck would be the key component for our evenings back at the house, so I found the cutest cups at Swoozie's for the trip. We all loved the What Happens on the Porch stadium cups and would use them to hold snacks. Plus, I got each of us a travel wine glass with our initials on them. #MonogramEverything is real AND it's obviously a rule here in the South. After all, if it's not moving, put a monogram on it.

As I mentioned before, the house was perfect. There were windows EVERYWHERE and you could catch a peek at the mountains from anywhere in the house. The stairway provided the best views in the evenings, but nothing beat being out on that deck for a prime sunset viewing.
The dining room is what originally sold me on the house (besides the huge wrap-around porch) because it was floor to ceiling, sliding doors. I mean, really? Too perfect!

The first day, we spent shopping in Downtown Waynesville at stores like The Mast General Store and Hazelwood Soap Co.

The dirty chai from Smokey Mountain Coffee Roasters was my addiction of the trip. Y'all, I've never had a better one.

Our sunset the first night was spectacular and set right behind the mountain that the deck faced. We sat out there with our snacks and our wine and watched the sun slowly dip down behind the peaks.
