Location: Pisces Rising, Mount Dora
Is there anything better than Sunday brunch? We have some truly eclectic dining choices in the historic district—one being Pisces Rising. I love sitting out on the deck, with a gorgeous view of Lake Dora, live music playing and a cocktail in-hand. It's one of my favorite places to take friends who come to visit because the scenery alone captures the true essence of this little town of mine. We went for brunch the other weekend, and I had the best mahi-mahi sandwich, which I of course followed up with the spiced pumpkin cheesecake (yes, it was as heavenly as it sounds).
Much like a beach town doesn't have a fancy way about it, Mount Dora is much the same. Lots of guys in khaki shorts, button-down shirts and boat shoes. Women can be seen in just about anything. Summer brunch is made for bikinis and a cover-up dress, but this time of year, I always opt for a comfy pair of pants and top with a cute pair of shoes. I love these leopard pumps and the side cut-out in the inner foot. It's an unexpected twist on a classic shoe—and they are so comfortable.
I'll tell you how my brain works in Target; I'll walk around and get the specific things I went in to buy, thinking I'll make it to the checkout without browsing. Well, that never happens. Once I've got the necessities, I'll browse the shoes and clothing, hit the book aisles, and then the makeup aisles. While I was strolling the shoe aisles, I came across these leopard pumps, tried them on and then put them back—telling myself I was going to be good and not buy something I didn't need. I made it to the checkout and out the store without the shoes.
I went back the next day for the shoes #girlsgottadowhatagirlsgottado
