Oh, fall! I seriously love this season. It's an excuse to slow life down, enjoy the little things, sip PSLs till you can't drink anymore, make everything cozy and warm, and venture out for apple picking and leaf-peeping. Throw in some homemade chili and apple cider and I'm totally content. At least, that's my recipe to make this fall the coziest and best ever!
Fall also means I get to dress out of the other half of my closet, work in those gorgeous, dark jewel tone colors I love and wear booties ALL.DAY.EVERYDAY. I'm a sucker for flannel button downs with distressed skinny jeans and boots. It's a classic, comfortable look that works for brunch, exploring and running mundane errands. So, my first stock up of the season will be some new flannels from Old Navy—the classic flannels and boyfriend style shirts are my favorite. I literally group them all together in my closet, and try to pick one when I get dressed. This flannel from last season is my favorite, and I've been wearing it with denim cut-offs to will fall to show up in Florida.
I also really enjoy earthy style jewelry in the fall. So, lots of arrowheads, druzy earrings and natural stone gems on my bangles. I just ordered this gorgeous necklace from my friend Gemma at Isle Coast, and I can't wait to pack it for my mountain trip next month.
Cross body bags are the way of life in the fall. They come in the most gorgeous fall hues. Plus, they are perfect handsfree bags you don't have to fuss over. I am obsessed with merlot colored bags in the fall, and this one from Kate Spade is on my personal wishlist for sure!
I also kick my makeup game back up a gear during the fall. In the summer, Florida heat and humidity takes it's toll on makeup, so I dial it way back and don't use a eyeshadow or thick products. In the fall, I incorporate earthy colors back into my eyeshadow, bump up the eyeliner again a bit, and go for a darker lip color. I am obsessed with Copenhagen from NYX right now. Also, this Bobbi Brown face palette needs to come home with me. It's stunning!
