What is it about traveling that makes me want to take all the beauty sample size items I have, stuff them in my cosmetic bag, and go pampering overboard on vacation? I literally have to make myself put things back because I know deep down I don't need to take five face masks with me.
I love the Shelby Dillon cosmetic bags because of the different sizing options and patterns. They are so cute as a gift to yourself or for your bestie. If you stock the bag full of sample size goodies, she'd love you forever (I promise). I also like how lightweight these bags are. Some of my cosmetic bags in the past were so heavy and I'm pretty sure were the sole culprits for my suitcase being overweight at the airport a time or two. These bags, however, feel like they are made out of a light canvas material, which is great.
So, once I've put back the four too many face masks, and the ten too many lipsticks, I start to think about just how much fuss and effort I'm going to put into my makeup routine on vacation. If it's a beach vacation, I stick to the bare minimum basics and a few bright lip colors. For our fall trips to North Carolina though, I tend to bring the good stuff.
We do our family Christmas picture in the mountains each year, and honestly we never know which day is going to be picture day until we find a great location or we get home and are scrolling through pictures. So, every day has to be camera ready day. Otherwise, you end up in a long-sleeve t-shirt and hardly any makeup on for that year's Christmas card.
For this trip, I'm sticking with my tried and true favorites. No guessing, no wondering how my skin is going to look in pictures because of a new foundation or wondering if my blush is the perfect shade of rosy cheeks.
