Well, we spent most of last week in hurricane prep mode for Hurricane Matthew, and thankfully the storm shifted farther east in the last hour and all of us in central Florida avoided the worst of the storm. Going from being positioned directly in the cone of uncertainty to being in the tropical storm weather track—we were so lucky and I have anyone and everyone affected by this storm in my thoughts and prayers.
Friday, was the worst of it. The storm moved in about 3am on Friday morning, and we hunkered down the entire day to ride out the storm. Thankfully, we didn't lose power, so I binge watched Scandal, and now I need to find myself some Olivia Pope size wine glasses.
Saturday, I knew I needed to get out of the house. One can only stand so much time in the house. So, I went shopping—obviously. I was drooling over these boots from Gianni Bini since I saw them a few weeks ago at Dillard's and decided I needed to pull the trigger. I also swung through Sephora to pick up the Kat Von D long last liquid lipstick; I picked up the shade Bachelorette and I love it. I also saw Sephora released their own makeup wipes, so I got the charcoal exfoliating wipes to try.
While we were on lockdown, I started the new book by the co-founders of She Reads Truth, and it's so good!
I carried my favorite Cuyana tote to go meet my bestie and her family for brunch Sunday morning at Dexter's in Winter Park. You have to get the hot mess if you go. It's fried chicken on top of a buttermilk biscuit with chicken sausage gravy and eggs—seriously, so good!
